How to Change the Blade on Your Razor EDC Obsidian
The Razor EDC Obsidian uses Outdoor Edge's RazorSafe push-button blade change system — no tools, and under 10 seconds.
- Open the knife fully and lock the blade in the open position so the blade holder is exposed before starting.
- Locate the blade release button on the handle, near the pivot.
- Press and hold the release button while sliding the blade forward and out of the holder.
- Wrap the used blade in tape or use the original packaging before discarding.
- Slide a new 350-series blade in from the front, aligning the tabs with the channel. Press until it clicks into the locked position.
- Deploy the blade fully and apply light lateral pressure to confirm the blade is seated securely before use.
Safety: always point the knife away from your body during blade changes.

It's hard to rag on this knife at a $40 price point. I picked this up to fill out the 3.5" slot I needed in the collection and for what it is, it's a good, almost great knife. The rest of this is in the context of: hey it costs $40, what do you want? The fit and finish are solid, the action is relatively smooth. I'd be much more interested in a tang instead of a thumb stud action, but in the offered form it gets the job done and gets you the extra half inch at 3.5". I will say that the blade is a bit recessed and I like that it feels like it gives you a little more leverage with the curved shape. Overall, I'd recommend it if you need a 3.5" OE replacement blade model. I'll admit that I'm not sure I really do given the stellar 3.0" VX offerings, but hey it's $40, what do you want?
I've never been good a sharpening so having a pocket knife with replaceable blades is an awesome accessory as my pocket knife will always be sharp and ready when needed
So I did a boo boo, I bought some outdoor razor 3.5 blades without thinking as I had just found my 3.5” knife I hadn’t seen in ages that needed new blades… unfortunately they didn’t fit the knife.. so I ordered this guy not wanting to have to return the blades..When I got the knife, I was immediately disappointed because I didn’t read enough to see that it has a glass filled nylon with TPR handle. I pulled it out and gave it a slight squeeze after seeing the handle was plastic and well it went crunch like broken glass… my fault to be honest for not looking long enough at the specs and thinking it would have at lease an aluminum frame and shell… oh well… the knife itself feels ok, blades are sharp enough to shave with. Just not sure how long it is gonna last in my rugged lifestyle. If I had a suggestion or a consumer want it would definitely be steel frame and shell construction withTPR inserts in the handle, also the blade lock is right where I press my thumb and as a push button this can lead to leaving the blade in my halfway finished cut, maybe something on the base of the hilt/handle it up in the blade holder itself would help with that. The blades are simply Wicked Sharp. The handle has good gripping for excellent control. Absolutely great purchase.

This is my3rd Razor knife and I would be hard pressed to buy a traditional style jacknife. I do wish you had a linerlok option to make the Razor a truly one hand knifel
